Six things the 407C X2 does
-
Lock Mode
Hold the buttons to lock them. Once locked, a bump in the holster cannot change your brightness — new to the 407C line with the X2.
-
Solar Failsafe
A top-mounted solar panel keeps the dot running if the battery fails, and in Auto mode it sets brightness from the light it senses.
-
Shake Awake
A motion sensor shuts the LED off after 10 minutes of stillness (adjustable to 12 hours) and wakes it the instant the pistol moves.
-
Red Super LED
A crisp red 2 MOA dot with up to 50,000 hours of battery life on setting 6, in 12 brightness settings including two for night vision.
-
Side battery tray
The CR1632 loads from a side tray, so you change the battery without unmounting the optic or losing your zero.
-
Parallax-free glass
Multi-coated reflective glass, parallax-free with unlimited eye relief, in a 0.63″ × 0.91″ window.

RMR-pattern footprint
The 407C X2 uses Holosun’s industry-standard RMR-pattern footprint, so it mounts directly on slides cut for the Trijicon RMR and on RMR adapter plates. Window is 0.63″ × 0.91″; the optic weighs 1.5 oz with battery.

Holosun 407C X2 questions, answered
What is the Holosun HS407C X2?
The HS407C X2 is Holosun’s open-reflex pistol red dot with a red 2 MOA dot. It runs on a side-loading CR1632 battery backed by a solar panel, weighs 1.5 oz, and adds Lock Mode to the 407C line so the buttons cannot be pressed by accident.
What footprint does the Holosun 407C X2 use?
The 407C X2 uses the industry-standard RMR-pattern footprint, so it fits slides and adapter plates cut for the Trijicon RMR pattern.
How long does the Holosun 407C X2 battery last?
Holosun rates it at up to 50,000 hours on brightness setting 6 from a single CR1632. The battery loads from a side tray, so you do not have to remove the optic to change it.
What is Solar Failsafe?
A solar panel on top of the housing powers the dot when light is available. If the battery dies, the sight keeps running in daylight; in Auto mode it also sets dot brightness from the ambient light it senses.
What is Lock Mode?
Lock Mode disables the brightness buttons so a bump in a holster cannot change your setting. It was introduced on Holosun’s 2018 LEM pistol optics and is new to the 407C line with the X2.
What does Shake Awake do?
A motion sensor turns the dot off after a period without movement — 10 minutes by default, adjustable up to 12 hours — and turns it back on the instant the pistol moves. It can also be disabled.
Red dot or green dot?
The HS407C X2 is the red-dot version; the same optic with a green dot is the HE407C-GR X2. Red is the traditional choice and works well against most backgrounds; green sits at the wavelength the eye is most sensitive to and can be easier to pick up in bright light.
Is the 407C X2 night-vision compatible?
Yes. Of its 12 brightness settings, 10 are daylight and 2 are night-vision compatible.
What is the difference between the Holosun 407C X2 and 507C X2?
They share the same housing, footprint, battery and solar system. The 407C projects a single 2 MOA dot; the 507C adds Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System with a 32 MOA circle you can run with or without the dot.
Is the Holosun HS407C X2 waterproof?
Yes. It is rated IP67 and to 5,000 G of vibration, with a working temperature range of −30 °C to 60 °C.
