Holosun EPS Core Gold 3 MOA: enclosed carry optic with a full-size EPS lens
Full-size EPS lens. Enclosed emitter. RMSc footprint for slim carry pistols.
Holosun’s new 2026 enclosed carry optic: the full-size EPS viewing lens on a compact RMSc-footprint body, with a sealed emitter that keeps dust, lint and rain off the reticle. A single clean 3 MOA gold dot (590 nm) keeps the sight picture simple, while a forward-facing light sensor handles brightness, Shake Awake saves the battery and the side-loading CR1620 swaps without removing the optic. 1.4 oz, IPX8. Also searched as the Holosun EPS-CORE, EPS Core Gold 3 MOA, EPS-CORE-GD3 or EPS CORE GD 3.

Six things the EPS Core Gold 3 MOA does
-
Enclosed emitter
The emitter sits inside a sealed housing, so dust, lint, rain and debris cannot block the dot the way they can on an open-emitter optic.
-
Full-size EPS lens
Holosun puts the full-size EPS viewing lens, a 0.90 × 0.63 inch window, on a compact RMSc-footprint body built for slim carry pistols.
-
Clean 3 MOA gold dot
A high-contrast 3 MOA gold dot (590 nm) that Holosun designed to stand out in bright lighting and high-glare environments.
-
Automatic brightness
A forward-facing light sensor adjusts dot brightness to the light you are aiming into, so it stays usable as conditions change.
-
Shake Awake + Memory
Motion powers the dot on instantly and down when idle; manual brightness has 8 daylight and 4 night-vision settings with memory and lockout.
-
Side-loading CR1620
The battery tray slides out of the side, so the optic stays on the slide. Rated up to 50,000 hours at setting 6.

- 1.61″Length
- 1.18″Width

RMSc footprint
The EPS Core mounts directly on the RMSc footprint used by many slim and subcompact optics-ready slides, with no adapter plate. Slide cuts and screw requirements vary, so confirm your pistol’s cut first.
Enclosed vs open emitter
An open-emitter sight like the 507C X3 leaves the LED exposed at the base of the window, where lint, dust or rain can block it. The EPS Core seals the emitter behind glass, front and rear, which is why enclosed optics suit carry and bad weather. Window is 0.90″ × 0.63″; the optic weighs 1.4 oz.

Holosun EPS Core Gold 3 MOA questions, answered
What is the Holosun EPS Core Gold 3 MOA (EPS-CORE-GD-3)?
The EPS-CORE-GD-3 is the gold 3 MOA dot version of Holosun’s EPS Core, a 2026 enclosed-emitter pistol sight. It puts the full-size EPS lens on a compact RMSc-footprint body for slim carry pistols, with a single 3 MOA gold dot, a forward-facing light sensor for automatic brightness, Shake Awake and a side-loading CR1620.
EPS Core 3 MOA or EPS Core MRS?
They share the same enclosed housing, full-size EPS lens and RMSc footprint. The 3 MOA model has one clean 3 MOA dot and runs on its CR1620 alone. The MRS model adds Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System (dot, 32 MOA circle, or both) and a Solar Failsafe panel. Pick the 3 MOA if you want the simplest sight picture.
What is the difference between the EPS Core and the EPS?
Both are Holosun enclosed pistol sights with the same full-size EPS viewing lens. The EPS Core mounts directly on the RMSc footprint used by many slim and subcompact slides; the original EPS uses Holosun’s K footprint.
Why choose an enclosed-emitter optic?
On an open-emitter sight, dust, lint, rain or mud can land on the emitter and block the dot. An enclosed sight seals the emitter inside the housing, which is why enclosed optics are popular for concealed carry and duty use.
What footprint does the EPS Core use?
The RMSc footprint, a direct mount on many slim and subcompact optics-ready slides with no adapter plate. Slide cuts and screw requirements vary, so confirm your pistol’s cut before ordering.
How long does the battery last?
Holosun rates the EPS-CORE-GD-3 at up to 50,000 hours at brightness setting 6 on one CR1620. Shake Awake powers the dot down when the pistol is idle, which stretches real-world life.
Does the EPS Core 3 MOA adjust brightness automatically?
Yes. A forward-facing light sensor adjusts brightness to match changing light, and you also get 12 manual settings (8 daylight and 4 night-vision) with memory recall and a lockout.
Why choose a gold dot?
Holosun positions the 590 nm gold dot as its high-contrast option: it stays distinct in bright lighting and high-glare environments where a red dot can wash out. Green (EPS-CORE-GR-3) is the bright-daylight visibility pick and red (EPS-CORE-RD-3) the traditional one. Housing, window, dot size and footprint are identical across the three.
Do I have to remove the optic to change the battery?
No. The CR1620 loads from a side tray, so the optic stays on the slide during a battery change.
Is the EPS Core waterproof?
Yes. Holosun rates it IPX8 for submersion and tests it to 5,000 G of vibration, with a working range of −30 °C to 60 °C.
