How to Mount a Red Dot

Clear the Firearm
Remove magazine, lock slide back, visually and physically verify the chamber is empty.

Remove Cover Plate / Install Adapter
Remove the factory cover plate. If your optic requires an adapter plate, install it now.

Apply Thread Locker
Apply blue Loctite (242) to mounting screws. Do NOT use red Loctite.

Mount & Torque to Spec
Seat optic, install screws in cross pattern. Torque to spec (typically 10-15 in-lbs).

Zero the Optic
At the range, zero at your preferred distance (10-25 yards typical for pistol).
